Terms & Conditions

For the purpose of these terms & conditions the following words shall have the following meanings:
 

“The Company” shall mean Surrey Heating & Boilers

“The Operative” or “Engineer” shall mean the representative appointed by the Company to carry out work

“We” shall mean the Company or Operative of the Company
“The Customer” shall mean the person or organisation for whom the Company agrees to carry out works &/or supply materials
“The Quote” shall mean a description of work offered by the Company to the Customer with associated costs & timescales

“The Order" "The Job" "Work" shall mean activities agreed between the Customer and Company or between Customer and Operative for an agreed price and timescale.

 

We will carry out work under the following terms and conditions: 

1. Service Charges.

  1. Charges are determined by The Operative or The Company on a job-by-job basis

  2. In addition to any service charge The Customer agrees to pay for all parts and materials used to complete the job

  3. Out of Hours Charges apply. Any service requested by The Customer after 5pm and before 8am is classed as Out of Hours And shall be subject to an Out of Hours Charge 

  4. On request by The Customer for an Operative to attend during Out of Hours, The Customer agrees to pay an £80 attendance fee 

  5. Bank Holidays are subject to a £100 attendance fee      

  6. Weekends are classed as out f hours and subject to charges as described in 1.3-1.5

  7. A diagnosis fee of £70 is payable if the the customer does not wish to go ahead with a boiler repair after the Engineer has provided a diagnosis

 

2. £130.00 Guaranteed Boiler Repair. This special offer is subject to the following terms​

  1. Parts are not included in the price; we will source any parts required to carry out the repair.

  2. This offer is limited to repairing the boiler itself and does not include controls, cylinder, 2 or 3 port valves or any other system component external to the boiler

  3. If the boiler is diagnosed by the operative as having more than one fault and the Customer wishes them to be fixed then the Customer will be charged an additional £60 per fault.

  4. If the operative diagnoses the boiler fault(s) but the customer does not wish to go ahead with the repair then the Customer will pay a £70 diagnosis fee.

  5. All out of hours Engineer visits are subject to terms laid out in 1. Service Charges

3 .‘A’ Rated ErP energy efficient boiler from only £1550. This special offer is subject to the               following terms

  1. ​This includes the supply & installation of Conventional Boiler up to 18KW or Combi Boiler up to 24KW

  2. The brand and output of boiler supplied is at the recommendation of the Company and is subject to availability

  3. 7 year parts & labour warranty is supplied by the manufacturer and may differ depending on the brand of boiler installed

  4. A standard horizontal Flue is included. Vertical Flues are not included in this offer.

  5. If height access is required via scaffolding or cherry picker then this will alter the price

  6. A magnetic filter is included

  7. An electrolytic scale inhibitor is included

  8. A power flush of existing system & chemical cleaner is included

  9. A chemical inhibitor is included

  10. Thermostats, programmers or timers are not included

  11. If a plume kit is required there will be an additional charge

  12. If a new Flue passage needs to be made this will alter the price

  13. If a condensate pump or frost stat is required then this will alter the price

  14. All non- hazardous rubbish will be removed

  15. This offer is not available to customers converting from an open-vented system to a sealed system

 

4. Quotes

  1. Your quote is valid for 30 days after this time your quote will no longer be valid and you will need another quote

  2. The price we quote does not include the cost of removing any dangerous waste materials such as asbestos

  3. The price we quote includes removing all non-dangerous materials including your old boiler and central heating parts we replace

  4. Any time frames we give you are our best estimates and we will do our best to keep to those time frames. Where there are likely to be delays we will let you know as soon as possible and agree new time frames with you. The time it takes us to complete the work has no effect on the price we quoted you

  5. When the Customer agrees to go ahead with the work quoted from the Company the Customer shall pay a deposit of half of the cost quoted which is payable not less than 7 days before work is due to start, or immediately if work is due to start within 7 days.

  6. Any remaining balance is payable by The Customer immediately on completion of The Work unless otherwise agreed

  7. Any work requested by the customer that is additional to that of the original quote will require a new quote reflecting the additional works.

 

5. Payment.

  1. Company Invoices are due for payment immediately upon delivery to the Customer unless otherwise agreed.

 6. Cancelation

  1. The Customer has the right to cancel the Order.

  2. If the Customer cancels the Order within 14 days prior to the date when work is scheduled to start then the customer shall be liable for the cost of any materials purchased to fulfil the Order.

  3. If the customer cancels the Order not less than 14 days prior to the date when work is scheduled to start, then the customer shall be entitled to a full refund of any deposit paid minus a £50 administration fee.

  4. The Company may cancel the Order at any time by giving the Customer notice in writing.

  5. Any refund due to the Customer will be paid within 14 days of the Company confirming in writing that a refund is due.

  6. If the Customer wishes to cancel the Order the customer must do so in writing to the following email address:  enquiries@surreyheatingandboilers.com.

7. Your Property

  1. The Operative will take care to carry out the work without causing damage to your property. If we cause unnecessary damage because of negligence we will put it right. You may need to redecorate, repair or restore certain areas once the work is completed. This is not included in the price we quoted and the Customer is responsible for this.

  2. We may need to lift floors and floor coverings so we can complete the work. The Operative will take care when doing this. The Company accepts no responsibility for damage to Flooring  or floor coverings during the course of carrying out work at your property other than that caused by gross negligence

  3. Where we have connected new equipment to your existing system, we cannot accept responsibility for the cost of repairing or replacing parts of your existing system that later develop faults, unless we have been negligent in not realising that this damage to your existing system would happen or unless the way we carried out the work was negligent and this caused the fault.

  4. If we change your heating system from an unpressurised system to a pressurised system we take no responsibility for any faults that develop on existing pipework

  5. You will need to have an adequate gas and electricity supply to your property before we can start the work. We can put you in touch with a gas or electricity distribution company to arrange this if you need us to.

  6. The Company takes no responsibility for the condition of your existing electrical installation and if additional electrical work is required this shall be the responsibility of the Customer.

 

8. Asbestos

  1. If we find or suspect asbestos is present during the course of carrying out work at your property work will stop immediately

  2. The Customer is responsible for employing a specialist contractor to (a) verify whether asbestos is present or not (b) remove these dangerous materials or we may be able to arrange for them to be removed at an extra cost

  3. When asbestos is removed you will need to produce a ‘site clearance for reoccupation’ certificate, which you can get from the asbestos removal company, before we can continue to work at your property

  4. Failure by the Customer to dispose of asbestos within a reasonable amount of time may result in the Company refusing to complete the work and any deposit paid by the Customer will be kept by the company. The Customer will be liable for an additional bill proportional to any work already carried out.

6. Our Guarantee

  1. The Company guarantees all workmanship carried out by the Operative for 12 months from the date that the work was completed

  2. Any appliance, part or component installed by the Operative will be guaranteed under the terms of guarantee supplied by the manufacturer of that appliance, part or component

  3. The guarantee will become null & void if any part, component, appliance installed by the operative, or if the work carried out by the Operative is:(a) Subject to misuse or negligence (b) Repaired, modified or tampered with by anyone other than a company operative

  4. The Company will accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability, for materials supplied by the Customer & will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault

  5. The guarantee is null & void if the customer has not made payment under the terms of this agreement
